AOPA Luxembourg is pleased to share an important update from our colleagues at AOPA Hellas: the release of a new milestone version of their comprehensive guide “General Aviation Flying in Greece.” This document is an invaluable resource for any pilot planning to fly in or around Greek airspace.
This latest edition, version 3.1, provides a complete briefing for General Aviation operations in Greece. It includes step-by-step planning advice, updated procedures for Schengen arrivals, ground handling contacts, and fuel availability details across the country. It is an incredibly useful guide that helps demystify Greek airspace classifications, flight planning rules, airport charges, and special procedures for ultralights and ZZZZ airfields.
AOPA Hellas has informed us that this guide will soon be made publicly available for download via their official website: www.aopa.gr. Once online, it will serve as the “go-to guide” for any aviator wishing to explore Greece by air.

Importantly, AOPA Hellas has committed to regularly updating the document, including version control, so that pilots can always access the latest information via their homepage.
We attach version 3.1 of the guide here for all AOPA Luxembourg members and participants. On behalf of our entire community, we express our sincere appreciation to the AOPA Hellas team for their excellent work and continued dedication to the pilot community.
Safe flying to all!
Peter
