🚨 Noise Complaints – Let’s Get the Facts Straight! 🚨

With the launch of the “SkyNoise Luxembourg” app, it’s time to clear up some misconceptions:

1. There is only ONE airport in Luxembourg, and it serves both commercial and general aviation.
   Unlike our neighbors, Luxembourg does NOT have a dedicated airfield for general aviation, despite our community’s continuous demands for one. Yet, we’re being unfairly targeted, while the real noise issue comes from the increasing number of night flights.
2. We are a community of around 1,000 private pilots who are passionate about flying responsibly and respectfully. We contribute to Luxembourg’s aviation ecosystem, and our flight schools are training the pilots who will fly for Cargolux and Luxair tomorrow. We are the backbone of the next generation of aviation professionals.
3. General aviation is NOT the noise problem.
   The complaints, as confirmed by discussions in the Commission Aéroportuaire, are primarily about the night cargo flights, not the light airplanes flown by our community. We fly by day, respect noise abatement procedures, and follow strict regulations.
4. Back off and let’s have a fair discussion.
   AOPA Luxembourg will not stand by while general aviation is wrongfully blamed. We demand a fair debate based on facts, not scapegoating.
