YPL/AOPA Fly-Out to Rouen (Or was it Innsbruck?)

Young Pilots Luxembourg mountain Fly-Out to Innsbruck planned from 18th – 21th May attracted many pilots and we had a record registration. So sad that weather in the Alps did not play game. Plans had to be changed fundamentally:

So it was Rouen in Normandy, weather there was perfect. Enthusiasm to fly together was not broken and so we launched into the air with 20 participants in no less than 9 airplanes headed four Rouen, the city of Jeanne d’Arc.

Worth to mention our dinner in France’s oldest restaurant La Couronne. Excellent food for a decent price. Not to be missed the most fluffy Soufflé Normand.

The next day there was some mountain flying to the Mont St Michel. Then stopover in Granville and a long flight along the coastline to see the sites of the Normandy Landing in WW2.

On day 3 we returned to ELLX after a short stay in Amiens.

Big thanks to the YPL organisers and all their efforts for another wonderful Fly-Out.

On May 8th, Cristina and Reinhard met up to share knowledge and exchange ideas about this newsletter. We encountered a few technical hiccups and had a good laugh......we hope you will enjoy this journey with us!
