After 8 years as president of AOPA Luxembourg, Peter has decided not to run for reelection. His energy, engagement, and can‑do attitude have driven meaningful improvements and strengthened our place within the aviation community.

We are deeply grateful for his dedication to our association, its members and his vision for the future.

We will miss his energy and his guidance and wish him all the best, knowing that he will not far. Thank you Peter!

New Military Low-Flying in Gemany

New Low-Flying Areas for the German Armed Forces
For many years, the German Air Force conducted its low-level flight training primarily in Canada. However, given the current threat situation, this is changing: Military low-level flights are now being conducted regularly in designated areas within Germany, which must be strictly observed during VFR flights.

Information on the seven low-flying areas (LFAs) established by the German Armed Forces in Germany can be found here: NfL 2025-1-3686

This NfL (Notice to Airmen) has been in effect since November 27, 2025, and applies to VFR flights with military jet, transport, and special-purpose aircraft below 1,500 ft AGL (Above Ground Level).

In addition, special low-level flying areas (LFAs) have been established for jet-powered combat aircraft. A map of these areas can be found in the NfL under section 7.
