There are still a number of events on the calendar - check them out below.

We will be taking a break for August, to fly, rest and reboot - we'll be back for the September issue.

AVGAS100LL should be available in the EU until 2032

AVGAS 100 LL contains the additive TEL (tetraethyl lead). The authorization in the EU for TEL expired and had to be renewed by the REACH committee. There are now positive developments:

  • SHELL: Their REACH Authorisation Application for TEL received a positive vote from the EU’s REACH Committee (26 positive; 1 abstention). This, to our understanding, is the final legislative step to secure Shell’s ability to supply 100LL fuel until at least April 2032. Click Here
  • WARTER Fuels /TRAFIGURA (Puma Energy): Their REACH Authorisation Applications were presented to the REACH Committee on 26th June and will now be subject to a written (electronic) voting procedure, in the same manner as the Shell application – exact approval timeline still to be confirmed:

Loftkadetten - Air Cadets now in Luxembourg

Luxembourg proudly welcomes a delegation of International Air Cadets for a two-day official visit – marking the second consecutive year that our country participates in the International Air Cadet Exchange (IACE). AOPA Luxembourg is delighted to share a first snapshot of their arrival, as we continue building bridges between young aviators across the world. For more Click Here!

The Luxembourg Loftkadetten Program is Now Open

The journey toward establishing the Luxembourg Loftkadetten began in September 2022 at the ICAE General Assembly in London, where Luxembourg was officially accepted as a new member country. This was made possible thanks to a joint effort by AOPA Luxembourg and the Royal Belgian Air Cadets.
The Loftkadetten program is now officially open to young Luxembourgers from age 14 to 16 who are eager to discover aviation, train as glider pilots, and grow in a structured and international setting.

Avitiatoin Quiz - Answer

It will show a descent as you start descending.

The VSI (Vertical Speed Indicator) doesn't use pitot ram or dynamic air pressure, so as long as your static ports are open, it will work normally.
