A few board positions are opening up so there has never been a better time for you to show your support for GA in Luxembourg!

Looking forward to see you there in large numbers - for the meeting, the voting and of course, Crémant afterwards!

Aviation medicine and private pilots

AOPA Luxembourg works within IAOPA on reforms of medical certification for GA pilots. Here is a report from AOPA Germany

Many things are currently in flux worldwide.

It's clear that aviation medicine can't continue as it has been, a point on which private pilots and their associations agree. The examinations cause unnecessary stress year after year. Depending on our age, private pilots have to see an aviation medical examiner once a year, every two years, or, if they're young, every five years, to have their fitness to fly assessed. Those who are young and in excellent health take it in stride. Everyone else, however, is understandably tense, and pilots approach these examinations with good reason: Almost everyone knows fellow pilots who are clearly healthy and active, drive cars, but still have to wait months for their medical certificate or even lose it altogether.

SkyEyes Daily Warnings
Boars Like Runways Too

The runway at AREL-AIR in Sterpenich (EBAR) was visited by wild boars!

They dug up the taxiway at the top of the field near the holding point for runway 09.

The holes are quite deep. A group of members gathered together to patch this up.

Until this has been repaired, please avoid the area.

Airfield Finds EDGS

EDGS Siegerland

Looking for a new place to fly to? We'll share our newest discoveries and hopefully you'll share yours with us at editor@aopa.lu so that we can include them in a future issue!

In just about an hour you can get to Siegerland Airport - this lovely airstrip is well maintained as it is used by business jets as well as GA. The airport is well equipped with an airside restaurant.
