AERO 2025 in Friedrchshafen showed off the multitude of offers from the General Aviation World. Autoland features, avionics for every need and taste, among others - a Diesel PA28 from Piper - the Archer DLX, many e-Flyer projects and ULM and drones galore.

Flying to the United Kingdom

 

Flying to the UK has not become any easier. As of January 1, 2025, all aircraft must have an active CO meter in the plane. The administration has been expanded with an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) and we hereby provide a brief overview of the websites where the relevant information can be found and how an application should be submitted.
 
The gendec website is providing good information. Please note that this is not valid for the CTA (Channel Islands, Isle of Man and Ireland). Make sure that a copy of the application and the authorization is carried on board.
 
From April 2, 2025, an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) must be applied for in addition to the GAR. The easiest way to obtain the approval via the UK ETA app that you can download on your smartphone. The authorization is valid for 2 years or for as long as the passport provided is valid.
 
It is useful to know a number of abbreviations/basic principles:
CTA: Common Travel Area = United Kingdom, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and Ireland
Gov.UK,sGAR = only to be used for flights to the UK.
